Ariana Grande wants to ditch traditional album format

Ariana Grande is eager to move away from the traditional album format because she doesn’t want to wait to share new music with fans.
The No Tears Left to Cry hitmaker is already back in the recording studio less than two months after releasing her fourth album Sweetener, and in a Twitter message to fans, she expressed her hopes to just drop new tracks online as they are completed, instead of leaving a gap in between projects, as has become the norm.
Ariana voiced her opinion after spotting a post from one devotee who raved about her work on Sweetener, even though she was confident the singer’s next batch of material would be better than ever.
“i feel like ag5 (her fifth studio album) is already 2000x better than sweetener but im (sic) not ready for this era to be over yet,” wrote a follower called Christina.
“it ain’t ova (sic)!” Ariana replied. “i don’t really like ‘era’s’. i jus wanna make music and drop it whenever and perform it. i don’t want to conform to the like … ‘routine’ or like ‘formula’ anymore. i love music i ain’t waiting another 2 years to drop it. i want to share it w u (with you) when it’s freshhh (sic)”.
And it appears the pop superstar is working towards making her wish come true, after recently teasing what appeared to be a handwritten tracklist for an as-yet-unannounced project online.
Ariana certainly has a lot to write about – she is currently planning her wedding to her actor fiance Pete Davidson, to whom she dedicated a track on Sweetener, while she has also been mourning the tragic loss of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. The rapper, who she had dated for two years until parting ways in early May (18), died from a suspected drug overdose at his Los Angeles home last month (Sep18), aged 26.
