Baywatch funnyman Buzz Belmondo dies

Buzz Belmondo, a comedian and actor who had a role in U.S. TV series Baywatch, has died.
The star passed away at his Los Angeles home on Tuesday (21Nov17) after a battle with blood cancer, his friend and comedy partner Brad Slaight confirmed to Deadline. He was 70.
Born Lorenzo Matawaran, he worked his way up through the San Francisco comedy circuit and appeared on The Joan Rivers show performing as his comic persona, Buzz, a flamboyant Filipino entertainer.
In 1987, he landed a role in U.S. sitcom Out of this World, playing the character of Buzz for 67 episodes. After the show finished in 1991, he landed a recurring role in Baywatch as hapless janitor Guido Torzini.
Buzz and Brad had recently appeared together in videos for U.S. comedy website Funny or Die.
The TV star is survived by his wife Kathy Keeley, and their son Matt.
