Victoria Beckham loves piggybacks thanks to Shaquille O’Neal

Victoria Beckham finally saw the appeal of piggybacks after being given one by Shaquille O’Neal.
The British designer and the basketball legend recently teamed up to create the Reebok x Victoria Beckham capsule collection, and celebrated their venture together at an event in Los Angeles earlier this month (Apr18). The duo announced that the range would be dropping in May, and even turned up to the bash wearing matching t-shirts. However, Beckham’s favourite part of the day was sitting atop Shaq’s shoulders to make a basket.
“I now understand why kids really like to go on shoulders,” the 44-year-old said in an interview with American’s InStyle magazine. “When you go to Disneyland and the kids are like, ‘Dad can I go on your shoulders?’ And you’re like, ‘Why would you want to go on someone’s shoulders?’ It is so fun. It’s a really fun thing to do, especially if they’re 7ft 1in (2.16m).”
The 5ft 4in (1.63m) fashion mogul had to “literally” climb a ladder to reach the giant sportsman’s dizzy heights.
“If we work together much more it’s going to be much more natural and I’ll jump up,” she laughed.
Beckham may be associated with glamorous garments and towering high heels, but the style icon recently divulged that a sportswear collaboration has been on her mind for some time now.
“I’ve wanted to create workout clothes for a long, long time, you know,” she explained in an interview with The Guardian. “I work out every day and I want to make clothes that I want in my life.”
Beckham also insisted that she’d never pair sportswear with a stiletto heel, claiming “it doesn’t look effortless and I think the whole point of bringing sportswear into the wardrobe is that it should look easy.”
