Buffy the Vampire Slayer remains one of the most iconic teen dramas of all time. Throughout the seven year run of the series, many stars were able to use the show as the launching point for their career. Though you obviously recall Sarah Michelle GellarDavid Boreanaz, and Alyson Hannigan as faces of the series, here are 19 stars you forgot were on Buffy.

After Buffy meets an untimely death (that obviously doesn't last), a new slayer, Kendra was activated. Since fighting vamps alongside Buffy, Bianca Lawson has been playing a teenager on the big and small screens for the last 20 years! She went on to star in Save the Last Dance and has had recurring roles on numerous television shows including Dawson's Creek. Most recently, she has has major roles on Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf . The 37-year-old currently stars in the DirecTV drama series Rouge and is now set to appear on the new Ava DuVernay/Oprah Winfrey series Queen Sugar. Lawson is also the step-sister of mega star Beyoncé, so she's pretty much iconic.

Carmine Giovinazzo - First Person Ever Killed On Buffy

While you might recognize Carmine Giovinazzo from his starring roles on CSI: New York and Graceland you probably didn't know that way back in '97, Giovinazzo had the distinguished honor of being the first person ever killed on Buffy. That's right, Giovinazzo's character was sucked dry during the first five minutes of the pilot episode by the vampire, Darla. After Buffy, the actor and guitarist starred on several different shows until he scooped up the role of Dani Messor on CSI: NY.

Ashanti - Lissa

At the height of her career in 2003, R&B singer Ashanti starred in the seventh season of Buffy as Lissa, a girl who goes out on a date with Xander only to reveal that she is a demon. Post Buffy Ashanti's singing career continued, but she also went on to star in several films including John Tucker Must Die and Coach Carter. Recently, Ashanti has guest starred on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and has teamed up with FLOTUS Michelle Obama for her Let's Move campaign.

Shane West - Sean Dwyer

Prior to starring in the second season of Buffy, Shane West had already had a guest spot on Boy Meets World. On Buffy, West played Sean Dwyer a boy on the swim team who is taking steroids laced with fish DNA. Post Buffy, Shane went on to steal our hearts in Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember, and on the TV series ER and Nikita. Currently, West can be seen on WGN's critically acclaimed adventure/historical/fantasy drama Salem.

Kal Penn - Hunt

Way back before he was a member of Harold & Kumar, and certainly before he was Dr. Kutner on House, Kal Penn was a rowdy frat bro named Hunt on the fourth season of Buffy. When an evil bar owner put a potion in their beers, Hunt and his friends, including Buffy, revert back to cavemen and destroy the pub. Penn has since gone on to host The Big Picture With Kal Penn and he will be starring in the upcoming film Going Under with Bruce Willis.

Eion Bailey- Kyle DuFours

We're certain that Once Upon a Time lovers recognize Eion Bailey as August Booth, but they might not know that he also played Kyle DuFours in the first season of Buffy. Kyle along with Xander and some other Sunnydale High students got possessed by the spirit of demonic hyenas, and gobbled up Principal Flutie. Yes Buffy kept it 100. After his bought of cannibalism, Bailey went on to star in Almost Famous, Covert Affairs and HBO's Band of Brothers before snagging his role on OUAT.

Amy Adams - Beth

Before Amy Adams was enchanting us as Gisele, or slaying the scene as Lois Lane, the Academy Award nominee guest starred in the fifth season of Buffy as Tara's cousin, Beth. Luckily, Amy Adams is no where near as crazy as Beth was, and ever since then her career has taken off in a major way. After a few more guest spots on shows like Smallville and The West Wing, Adams has been killing it on the big screen. After her appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, her next roles will be in this year's Story Of Your Life, and in Nocturnal Animals alongside her doppelganger Isla Fisher.

Wentworth Miller - Gage Petronzi

Before he was being all bad ass in Prison Break, Wentworth Miller's first onscreen role was on the second season of Buffy as Gage Petronzi, a member of the Sunnydale High Swim Team member. Unfortunately, Miller's character turned into the Gill monster. Post-Prison Break Miller went on to star in The CW's The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow. Currently, he is gearing up to repreise his role in the upcoming Prison Break reboot.

Clea Duvall - Marcie Ross

Before she starred in American Horror Story or The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, Clea DuVall portrayed Marcie Ross on Buffy. Marci was a girl who felt so invisible, she started to actually become invisible. Her invisibility made her insane and she set her sights on resident Sunnydale mean girl, Cordelia Chase before she was stopped. Post Buffy, Duvall starred in She's All That, Heroes and Grey's Anatomy.  She even reunited with Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar in 2004's The Grudge.

D.B. Woodside - Principal Robin Wood

Before Pedro Pascal was defending Tyrion Lannister as Oberyn Martell on HBO's Game of Thrones, he was Eddie, one of Buffy's first friends in college. Unfortunately, Eddie is turned into a vampire and Buffy is forced to kill him. It was one of Pascal's first jobs out of college, and he went on to star in numerous other shows including, The Good Wife, GoT and currently Netflix's Narcos.

Post Buffy, Tamblyn starred in her own hit series Joan of Arcadia, as well as the YA films The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Recently, the actress and poet has starred on Two and a Half Men and Inside Amy Schumer.

Rachel Bilson - Colleen

The same year she began starring as Summer Roberts on the teen hit, The O.C., Rachel Bilson starred as Colleen, a potential slayer on Buffy. Xander even has a very sexy dream bout her. After The O.C., Bilson has gone on to see major success on both the big screen and on television. In 2008, she co-stared in Jumper where she met her boyfriend Hayden Christensen. The two now have a 1-year old daughter together. In 2011, Bilson snagged the starring role in The CW's Hart of Dixie which ran for four seasons.

Actress Kali Rocha actually appeared on Buffy twice, first in 2000 as Spike's unrequited love, Cecily and then again in 2002 with a more robust role as the demon Halfrek. Rocha went on to act with Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers. Since 2013, Rocha has starred in the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie.

Julie Benz - Darla

You might not recall that Julie Benz was actually the first vampire to ever appear on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She played Darla, Angel's former lover, and she even went on to have a recurring role on the Buffy spin-off Angel. Benz has gone on to star in major television shows like Dexter, Defiance and Hawaii Five-O . Currently, Benz is filming for the TV adaptation of Training Day.

Conchata Farrell has had a super long-standing career starring on everything from ER to L.A. Law. Back in season two of Buffy, the Emmy winning actress starred as creepy Nurse Greenleigh.  Afterwards, she went on to star in all twelve seasons of the CBS hit Two and a Half Men. She also voiced the character of Bob's Mom in 2012's Frankenweenie.

RIP John Ritter - Ted

John Ritter had a huge career with roles in classic television shows like Three's Company and The Love Boat long before he starred as Buffy's mom's evil robot boyfriend Ted. Post, Buffy Ritter went on to star in 8 Simple Rules. He also voiced Clifford the Big Red Dog. Sadly, Ritter passed away September 11, 2003. He suffered a tear in his aorta.
